More efforts should be directed for credit check and debt collection processes. Over lending to borrowers should be avoided.
Administrative, village to district level Government machinery should be oriented with microfinance models beyond self-help groups to avoid compressing of MFI operations at local level. Regulatory awareness of policy makers at state and central level, who at one end are pushing financial products to unreached people and areas; and at other end are not withstanding the high rate of interest publicly, and thus pushing the whole sector into political risks at a larger level. Generally, they lend funds with high interest rates and also provide loans for short terms, suffocating MFIs to deal with delinquencies and defaults.
